Quickstart

Connect your agent to Porch and catch your first request.

Porch is a remote MCP server at:

https://porch.okibi.ai/mcp

It uses the Streamable HTTP transport and needs no authentication. Connect your client, then ask your agent to use it.

1. Connect your client#

Claude Code#

bash
claude mcp add --transport http porch https://porch.okibi.ai/mcp

Claude (web, desktop and mobile)#

Open Settings → Connectors, choose Add custom connector, name it Porch, and paste the URL above. Leave authentication empty.

Cursor#

Add Porch to ~/.cursor/mcp.json:

json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "porch": { "url": "https://porch.okibi.ai/mcp" }
  }
}

VS Code#

Add Porch to .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace:

json
{
  "servers": {
    "porch": { "type": "http", "url": "https://porch.okibi.ai/mcp" }
  }
}

Windsurf#

Add Porch to ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json:

json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "porch": { "serverUrl": "https://porch.okibi.ai/mcp" }
  }
}

Codex CLI#

Add Porch to ~/.codex/config.toml:

toml
[mcp_servers.porch]
url = "https://porch.okibi.ai/mcp"

Any other client#

Point any MCP client that supports Streamable HTTP at the URL. Porch speaks the current protocol revision (2026-07-28) and also serves clients built for the 2025 revisions.

2. Try it#

Ask your agent something that needs to be reached from outside:

Make a Porch inbox, then wait for a request and tell me what arrives.

The agent calls create_inbox and shows you a URL. Send it something from a terminal:

bash
curl -X POST "<inbox url>/hello?from=terminal" \
  -H 'content-type: application/json' \
  -d '{"message": "hi porch"}'

The agent's wait_for_request returns immediately with the method, path, parsed query, headers and the parsed JSON body.

3. Do something real#

Inspect it by hand#

The MCP Inspector is handy for exploring the tools without an agent:

bash
npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspector

Choose Streamable HTTP and enter the server URL.

Teach your agent#

Porch publishes a guide for agents as the porch skill (skill://porch/SKILL.md), through the MCP Skills extension. Clients that load skills pick it up automatically; it's also readable as an ordinary MCP resource. The server's instructions point agents to it as well, so most agents use Porch correctly without any prompting.
